This is a fun and necessary project for me in that I will always need to play straight ahead jazz. The organ trio is the best of both worlds for guitar in that when solo, there are chord changes behind me; and when the organist solos, I have harmonic freedom because the organist’s left hand is busy with bass lines. I also love to play in the mid to lower register in this setting. The Organic Quartet adds vibraphone to the mix.
